How does junk removal pricing work?
We price by volume — how much space your stuff takes up in the truck. We'll take a look, give you a firm quote before we start, and that's the price. No hidden fees, no surprises. Single-item pickups (like a mattress or a couch) have a flat rate. Bigger jobs are priced by quarter, half, and full truck loads.
What areas do you serve?
The entire Kansas City metro — both sides of the state line. That includes Kansas City MO and KS, Overland Park, Olathe, Lee's Summit, Independence, Shawnee, Blue Springs, Liberty, Leawood, Prairie Village, and every suburb in between. If you're not sure, just ask.
What items can't you take?
A few things local regulations don't let us haul: hazardous waste, wet paint (dry it out first and we'll grab it), automotive fluids, medical waste, and asbestos. Pretty much everything else is fair game.
Do I need to be home during pickup?
Not always. If you can leave the items on the driveway, curb, or in an unlocked garage, we can handle it and send you a photo when we're done. For inside pickups we do need an adult on-site.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Same-day and next-day slots are common. Weekends and the first of the month fill up faster, so if you've got a tight deadline (like a move-out date), book a few days ahead if you can.
Do you recycle?
Whenever possible, yes. Metals, electronics, and donation-worthy furniture get a second life. We partner with local donation centers so usable items find new homes instead of the landfill.
Are you insured?
Yes. The Junk Truck is fully licensed and insured for residential and commercial jobs. Proof of insurance available on request, especially helpful for HOA and property management jobs.

Do you do estate cleanouts?
Absolutely. Estate and downsizing clean-outs are one of our specialties. We work carefully and discreetly, coordinate with realtors and attorneys when needed, and can sort items for donation rather than disposal. No one should have to handle an estate clear-out alone.
